JOLIET, IL - Right hander Adam Zuk took the bump tonight for the Slammers with hopes to tie up the series at one game a piece. The Slammers would come to play tonight with a huge 9-6 win giving Zuk his third win as the starting Slammers pitcher.

Of the seven to cross the plate, Brylie Ware, Patrick Causa, and Tyler Depreta-Johnson were all brought in on walks.
Gateway would chip away at the Slammers’ 7-3 lead in the top of the second with an RBI single by Jay Prather letting Dylan Jones cross the plate.
In the top of the third Zuk would be relieved on the mound by righty Chris Roycroft. The starter would see 12 batters and toss three strikeouts.
The Grizzlies would come close to leveling the score in the top of the sixth inning chalking up two more runs. Chase Vallot would score on a fielder’s choice after a 3-1 play would get the batter Connor Ownings out. Dustin Woodcock would score unearned on a passed ball putting the score at 7-6.
Roycroft would see three innings on the mound, facing 10 Grizzlies before Keon Taylor would come in to relieve him in the sixth. The right handed sidearmer would see two innings on the mound before Brad VanAsdlen came in to take charge of the game for Joliet.
The bottom of the seventh inning would see two more runs by Joliet extending their lead to 9-6. Terry Daniels, playing his first game as a Slammer, would come home on a 6-3 play on Brylie Ware. An RBI double by Jackson Dvorak drove Dylan Hardy home from second.
