Joliet, IL — The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy have an exciting lineup of both returning promotions and all new promotions for the 2017 season. Promotional highlights include fifteen fireworks shows this season, including a handful of newly added Saturday night shows, the return of Thirsty Thursdays featuring drink specials by Bud Light, afternoon Sunday games with full team autographs and Kids Run the Bases presented by Andy’s Frozen Custard, and a full calendar of theme nights.

The Slammers open the season on the road against the Lake Erie Crushers on May 12 before they open at home on Tuesday, May 16. Opening day at the Slammers stadium is a $2 Tuesday with reserved seats starting at just $2. The month of May features 11 home games in total, including three education days on May 17, 18 and 24 and Superhero Night on Friday May 19 with a post-game fireworks show.

Rolling into June, the Slammers bring back some of their top promotional nights including Princess Night on June 2 with princesses provided by Magic, Music, and More and post-game fireworks by Lumina Pyrotechnics. The first Bark in the Park of the season will be held on June 4 and a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration will be held on June 24. New this season is the Slammers Hispanic Heritage night on Saturday, June 3 featuring the Slammers first Saturday night fireworks show of the season.

The Slammers kick-off July with a three-day Independence Day Celebration with games July 3-5. The home stand against the River City Rascals will feature two fireworks shows over the three days – one on Monday, July 3, and the second on Tuesday, July 4. July Fourth will also be a $2 Tuesday.

The following week, the Slammers host the 2017 Frontier League All-Star Game. Frontier League All-Stars, staffs, and fans from all other 11 teams in the league will be coming into Joliet July 10-12 for All-Star activities.

On Tuesday, July 11, the Bill Lee Golf Outing will be held at the Mistwood Golf Club between 8 am and 2 pm, followed by the Home Run Derby that night at 7 pm. On Wednesday, July 12, the Frontier League Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon will be held in the Grand Ballroom at Joliet Union Station between 11:30 am and 1 pm. The All-Star Game will take place Wednesday night at 7 pm. Tickets will go on sale for the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game in early March.

July will also feature an all new Royalty Night on Saturday, July 22 with princesses and their princes provided by Magic, Music, and More. The night will also feature another Saturday night fireworks show.

Both August and September include returning promotions like Star Wars night on Saturday, August 12 with post-game fireworks, Pet Day on Sunday, August 13 when fans can bring in any type of pet either on a leash or in a carrier, and the Slammers Stand up for Blue Night as they recognize area law enforcement.  Faith night is an all new promotion that will take place on Saturday, August 26, along with the new addition of a Sports Career Fair on Sunday, August 27.

The Slammers wrap up their 2017 regular season the first week of September with games September 1- 3, again featuring two fireworks shows in one weekend.
