SLAMMERS OWNER TIM WELSH AWARDED CATHOLIC CHARITIES’ LIFE OF DISTINCTION AWARD

Story provided by Catholic Charities of. St. Paul Minnesota

The Life of Distinction Award is given to a person or family in the community who actively lives the mission of Catholic Charities through dedication to the organization, volunteerism or board commitment. This year, Catholic Charities gratefully recognizes Tim Welsh for his longstanding dedication and support to those most in need in our community.

Tim’s dedication to Catholic Charities goes back 50 years, to when he was adopted through Catholic Charities in Washington D.C.

While his first connection came at birth, Tim has been giving back to the agency for decades, serving as a board member, volunteer, volunteer consultant and donor. A Senior Director at McKinsey & Company, Tim not only shares his time and talents with Catholic Charities, but is an active, civic leader truly working to make a difference for those most in need.

“I’ve been involved with Catholic Charities in a variety of ways for a long time,” he said. “What I learned is that Catholic Charities not only does good work—it certainly does good work—but it also brings people of goodwill together and allows the community to be richer because those people are working together.”

Most recently, Tim has been working with people of good will to help realize the new vision for the Dorothy Day Center.

“I think Dorothy Day is critical for downtown St. Paul, a place that is my home, and it is very important that this place be vibrant and it’s important that we care for everybody who lives here,” he said. “I think the mission is extraordinarily important and it’s serving a critical need and I couldn’t be more proud to be affiliated with it.”

The feeling, is mutual, Tim. We are so thankful for your support!
